On investigating the hidden

Common sense is that what our physical senses pick up is what is real. My butt in this chair is real. I must protect my butt and chair at all costs. This is the history of humanity: butt and chair protection, protecting the butt and its placement. Wars are fought for this. Yet we know, when we look more deeply, that butt and chair are appearances, apparitions. No, no, we say. We protest. This is MY butt, MY chair. Now we have gone more deeply into an apparition. No one can see this MY. Yet we have made laws for protection of this MY. An apparition has legal standing. And we do not even begin to address who or what is saying MY. This is some of the detective work that occurs when investigating the Hidden. What is taken for granted is not necessarily real. The physical is a temporary crust on a waving of the ocean of the sublime.
